Routing Parameters

The IP network routing parameters are described in the table below.

IP Network Routing Parameters

Parameter

Description

'Don't Send ICMP Unreachable Messages'

configure network > network-settings > icmp-disable-unreachable

[DisableICMPUnreachable]

Defines whether or not the device generates and sends ICMP messages, if required.

[0] Disable = (Default) Device sends ICMP Unreachable messages.
[1] Enable = Device does not send ICMP Unreachable messages.

'Send and Receive ICMP Redirect Messages'

configure network > network-settings > icmp-disable-redirec

[DisableICMPRedirects]

Enables sending and receiving ICMP Redirect messages.

[0] Enable = (Default) Device sends and accepts these messages.
[1] Disable = Device rejects these messages and also does not send them.

configure network > network-settings > wan-copper-fiber-mode

[WanCopperFiberMode]

Enables 802.1Q-in-802.1Q (QinQ), as defined by IEEE 802.1ad, for a specific WAN interface - either copper (single-copper) or fiber (single-fiber). QinQ expands VLAN space, by adding an additional 802.1Q tag to 802.1Q-tagged packets.

[0] = (Default) Disables QinQ (uses all configured WAN interfaces).
[1] = Enables QinQ on the WAN copper interface.
[2] = Enables QinQ on the WAN fiber interface.

Note:

The parameter is applicable only to Mediant 500Li and Mediant 800Ci.
This feature is supported only on the WAN interface (not LAN).
To disable QinQ, set the command to use-all.
For the parameter to take effect, a device reset is required.
